Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater
Why Men Cheat
True or false: once a cheater, always a cheater? It would be so simple if the answer was black and white, but as are most matters of the heart, the gray area here is expansive. There could be more then one reason Why Men Cheat.
There are different reasons why people cheat, and every affair holds a tale of its own. The reasons range; not ready for commitment? Not sexually satisfied? Just not in love? Whatever made him or her wander tells a different story, one you need to understand. No excuses here, just being fair.
Then, move on accordingly.
If you’re in a relationship with someone who cheated, you should be honest with yourself on whether you can get past the indiscretion(s) or not. Was it once? 100 times? Does it matter? This is really a decision you have to make. If you’re trying to make it work, definitely do communicate and discuss how you both feel to make the resentment minimal.
If your new beau has a rep for being a cheater, that’s a red flag, but maybe not a deal-breaker. Was it the result of a wandering eye? Is it because he or she was stuck in a relationship they didn’t see a way out of? Did they just need to grow up? As you get to know the person, the answer will show.
Even though you should begin your romance with a clean slate, your partner’s rap sheet will probably send you on the defensive. Take it slow here, and try not to let the past play too much into your perception of the present. If you want to make it work, you’ll have to start giving them the benefit of the doubt at some point.
